I'm lovin' it
Some clients prefer to just dip a toe into colour, but in the case of this Westboto Beach kitchen, these clients dove headfirst.

From the very start, this kitchen had a clear design direction: warm colours only. Think orange, red, yellow—no cool tones allowed. A refreshing change in project brief and, ultimately, a bit of a challenge. But if you know us, you know this kind of task is right up our alley, so we set off to create the perfect palette that felt bold, cohesive, and totally livable.
We tested over a dozen reds before landing on the one: a rich terracotta with just enough depth to ground the space, but enough warmth to keep things vibrant. And if finding the perfect red wasn't challenge enough, the backsplash tile came in a dozen variations, so we laid each one out by hand. And in doing so, curating the perfect balance of pattern and rhythm to keep things feeling intentional, not chaotic.
Playful, yellow pendants pack a punch in the palette, while creamy wall sconces add interest with their form. This really was a kitchen that held design surprises around each corner; from it's pop of tambour to it's bold wallpaper, no opportunity for the addition of interest was missed!

The original layout featured a clunky 90s peninsula—square-ish but also somehow rounded—and instead of fighting it, we leaned in. The new design embraced the curves, but reimagined them in a way that felt playful, sculptural, and made sense in a large, open kitchen like this one.
This was a fearless project from a fearless client. And, from this fearlessness, we think we might have created the boldest kitchen in all of Westboro Beach.
